Treatment activity :
During this period, the Establishment treated(1) 28.5 tons of fuel assemblies from a batch of EDF. Four of the six lines of vitrification of fission products were in service.
Since the beginning of the year, 265 canisters have been produced.

Shipment activity :
A shipment containing one TN17/2 cask of 7 spent fuel assemblies coming from the Netherland's power plant of Borssele ( Reactor with water under pressure exploited(run) by the company of electricity EPZ) arrived on June 21 at 9:27 am at the railway terminal of Valognes.

The actuality, it is also... On June 22, the new "Point Information COGEMA", implanted in the entrance of the site, opened its doors to the public. The guests can get acquainted with COGEMA's activities through informative panels, through video projections, through models but also "buissonnières" visits to discover the environment of the Establishment and its politics to protect it.

(1) the Treatment consists in separating, within spent fuel, on the one hand, the reusable materials - uranium and plutonium - in order to recycle them and, on the other hand, the ultimate residues - fission products and other waste - in order to condition them in a sure way.
