Treatment activity:
During this period, the factory continued the maintenance actions of the installations, within the inter-campaign work 2003 planned this summer.
Since the beginning of the year, the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 313 canisters of compacted residues.
Shipment activity:
Four casks of spent fuel from German nuclear power plants arrived at COGEMA Logistics railway terminal in Valognes on July 17th, 2003, at 12 h25 pm.
The fuel elements will be stored at La Hague pools for cooling, and will be then reprocessed to recover valuable materials and to condition final wastes in order to return to Germany for disposal.
