UP2 plant :
The UP2 plant is on shutdown period for maintenance. At the R7 vitrification facility, lines A, B and C are on standby.
UP3 plant :
At the UP3 plant, shearing of fuel assemblies from a batch of 1300 MWe EDF fuel is in progress in the T1 head-end facility. A total of 164 metric tons of uranium have been processed to date this year. A total of 13 canisters have been producted at the T7 vitrification facility.
Shipments :
On February 21th 2002, a shipment of spent fuel coming from the Borssele Plant (Holland) arrived at the Valognes railway terminal. This transport is within the context of the 1993 contract signed between EPZ and COGEMA, for the reprocessing of spent fuel from their nuclear plant.
This shipment was made up of 1 cask containing 7 assemblies of 730 kg each one.
