Treatment activity:
During this period, the Establishment treated 42 tons of spent fuel assemblies coming from power stations EDF.
From all treated assemblies, a total of 651 tons have been processed to date this year..
During this period, 3 canisters of vitrified fission products have been produced(1).
Since the beginning of the year, 285 canisters have been produced.
It should be noted that the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 15 canisters of compacted residues.
Since the beginning of the year, 362 canisters have been produced.

If for one week, the maintenance campaign of the installations has been closed on UP2 and UP3 plants, it continues, on the other hand, and in accordance with defined planning, on the pipe of releases at sea, in particular on one of the sections, whose steel shell of protection to the friction of the rocks, showed signs of wear.
(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
