During this period, the Establishment treated 29 tons of spent fuel assemblies coming from power stations EDF.
From all treated assemblies, a total of 609 tons have been processed to date this year..
During this périod, 5 canisters of vitrified fission products have been produced(1).
Since the beginning of the year, 282 canisters have been produced.
It should be noted that the facility of hulls compaction (ACC) produced 5 canisters of compacted residues.

Inter campagne year 2003: successful mission
The maintenance actions carried out within the framework of inter campaign this summer were completed successfully, in accordance with planning. The resumption of the operations of shearing August the 16 and 26 on the workshops T1 and R1 signs the restarting UP2 and UP3.
(1)The fission products (ultimate residues of spent fuel) are incorporated in heated glass to approximately 1100°C. The whole is poured in stainless steel containers. The fission products are an integral part of stable, compact and resistant glass. This process is called vitrification.
