Used nuclear fuel coming from the Netherlands to France

According to the contract signed between EPZ (operator of the Borssele nuclear power plant in the Netherlands) and AREVA, and following intergovernmental agreements between France and the Netherlands, the used fuel from Borssele nuclear power plant is sent to France for treatment.

In accordance with these commitments, a shipment of three casks containing used fuel has left the railway terminal located near Borssele NPP on March 6, 2012. The convoy will soon enter French territory and then go to the AREVA railroad terminal located in Valognes with its final destination at the AREVA La Hague recycling plant.

This operation fully complies with national and international regulations.
