Luc Oursel, the President and CEO of AREVA, was elected today as the chair of the Association Nationale de la Recherche et de la Technologie (ANRT – French National Research and Technology Association), by the board of directors. He takes over from Louis Gallois, the French General Commissioner for Public Investment and former CEO of EADS.

The ANRT brings together French public and private research and development organizations. It strives to improve the effectiveness of public policies on innovation in France, as well as Europe, and to identify and promote best practices in research partnerships.

Luc Oursel declared that: "as President and CEO of a group which is the world leader in its sector, and allocates nearly 10% of its revenue each year to research and development, I am fully aware of the vital role played by innovation in giving companies a competitive edge. I am honoured to take over as chair of the ANRT. I will strive to pursue the work of this organization, which is vitally important to research in France, a hotbed for innovation and public / private partnerships."
