Brief
As part of a study on non-polluting energies, Oslo will soon get electricity from an underwater power plant in the Kvalsund region. The plant's twenty or so 300 KWe tidewater-powered turbines should supply enough electricity for 1,000 houses by 2004. Some 50 million Norwegian kroner have already been spent on the project, and another 100 million will be needed for its completion. The cost to maintain the plant is not yet known.
