Brief
Two new reactors are to be built at the Tsuruga power plant in Fukui Prefecture, Japan. The government-owned company that operates the plant plans to invest 830 million yen to build the 1.53 million kWh pressurized water reactors. The reactors are expected to enter service in 2010 and 2011. The government has determined that 10-13 new reactors must be built in Japan by 2010 to meet its commitments to reducing greenhouse gases.
