Frédéric LEMOINE is appointed Chairman of the AREVA Supervisory Board

Frédéric Lemoine has been appointed today Chairman of the AREVA Supervisory Board. He replaces Philippe Pontet, who tendered his resignation following his recent appointment as Vice Chairman, Corporate Finance Europe at HSBC CCF.

Alain Bugat, Vice-Chairman of the Board, said on behalf of all members, "Philippe Pontet has played a major role in seeing the company's strategy through, working hand-in-hand with the Executive Board. Frédéric Lemoine is Senior Advisor at McKinsey and member of the board of Groupama S.A., where he chairs the Audit and Accounts Committee. He previously spent two years as Deputy General Secretary at the French President's office, where he was responsible in particular for economic, industrial and financial affairs.

Born in 1965, Frédéric Lemoine is a graduate of HEC, Sciences-Po Paris and the Université de Paris II (law). A former student at ENA, he began his career at the General Inspectorate of Finance, where he dealt with corporate finance and hospital management issues. After managing the Heart Institute in Ho Chi Minh City between 1992-1993, he became Deputy Chairman of the Social Affairs and Labor Minister's office in 1995, where he was in charge of coordinating reforms on social security and hospitals. At the end of 1997, Frédéric Lemoine joined the Cap Gemini group, where he moved from Secretary of the Executive Board, to Chief Financial Officer and finally, in May 2000, to Deputy CEO of the Group in charge of finance.
