In brief

On September 29, the AREVA Corporate Foundation and Un Avenir Ensemble, the Legion of Honor’s Foundation, celebrated a successful partnership which has provided support to young Nigerien women after graduating from high school to pursue their scientific studies.

Four of them, Balkissa, Mariama, Sarah and Saadatou, are returning to Niger this year with engineering degrees in their pockets to serve their country with their skills.

They were received by the Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honor and Chairman of the Un Avenir Ensemble Foundation, together with Anne-Marie Choho, Chairman of the AREVA Foundation, and a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Niger in France.

Also present were their sponsors, women employees of AREVA who volunteered to advise, guide and support them throughout their years of study.

I am very proud to be here; I think we still don’t realize how much has been accomplished. My thanks to the Un Avenir Ensemble Foundation and the Maison d’Education of the Legion of Honor who hosted us, advised us and helped us, and to the AREVA Foundation, without which we would not be here!” said Mariama.

Our desire to support actions with Niger is the fruit of major projects carried out together for more than
40 years with a strong commitment to local development, the general interest and solidarity. Niger is at the heart of our company, our identity and our history
,” said Anne-Marie Choho, Chairman of the AREVA Foundation.
