FBFC Romans took advantage of the Neighborhood Festival to invite the public to discover its facilities on May 28.
Approximately 100 people visited the site, including families, business people, members of the municipal teams in Romans, Bourg-de-Péage and Saint-Paul-lès-Romans, people working or living in the safety area covered by the Special Response Plan, and the local press. The participants:
- learned about the nuclear fuel assembly process in FBFC’s facilities,
- visited an “Energy cycle” exhibit presenting the AREVA group’s activities, and
- received information on risks associated with our operations and the means of prevention set up.
A special team of FBFC Romans employees organized the event, answered questions and guided visitors through the facility and the exhibit.
Visitors and the local press applauded this initiative for dialogue and information exchange.
The chairman of the Local Information Commission (CLI) publicly encouraged the plant’s management to repeat the event next year. We look forward to a new open house in 2011. In the meantime, several visits will be organized for elected officials and associations.
