Decision on ITER project postponed to November 27 At a meeting held in Brussels on September 22, the European Union's fifteen research ministers decided to postpone selection of a European host site for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER).
The quadripartite negotiations involving Canada, Europe, Japan and the Russian Federation will ultimately lead to site selection as well as definition of financial conditions for construction of ITER and the legal framework of the entity that will build and operate it.
