The decease of Mr. N. Kapparov, Chairman of the Board, KazAtomProm

It is with a great deal of sadness that AREVA’s management has learned of the passing of Nurlan Kapparov, the Chairman of the Board of KazAtomProm, during a business trip to China. Mr. Kapparov took over at the head of KazAtomProm in August 2014. Prior to this, he was the Minister for the Environment & Water Resources for the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since taking over this role at KazAtomProm, Mr. Kapparov had proven his willingness to strengthen the long-term partnership with AREVA and to cooperatively develop the mining business.

AREVA would like to offer its sympathy and sincere condolences to his family and friends, as well as to all those working with KazAtomProm, the group’s strategic partner in Kazakhstan.
