China: First innovation seminar for operational power plants

AREVA gathered in China more than forty customers, including China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGNPC), Taïwan Power Company (TPC), TNPJVC/EDF, and the Chinese safety authorities, Nuclear Safety Center (NSC), for a seminar dedicated to innovation.

It gave AREVA the opportunity of sharing its know-how and presenting its latest innovations in service activities for power plants in operation: optimization of unit outages; modernization of I&C, repair and replacement of components, design studies, NDEs, etc.

Participants also had the opportunity of discussing concrete examples of best practices implemented by AREVA during field work on all types of reactors in operation throughout the world. These were compared to the needs and specific problems of the Chinese utilities in order to enhance performance and to optimize safety standards of Chinese power plants.

Through this seminar, AREVA has reaffirmed its will to support utilities in the development of their nuclear programs and to strengthen the links with its Chinese partners.
