Canada to lend 200 million euros to complete Cernavoda-2

The Canadian government has decided to guarantee a CAD 328 million (EUR 200 m) loan to Romania to complete construction of unit 2 at the Cernavoda power station, a 706 MWe Candu reactor. Société Générale, Crédit Lyonnais and the Banque roumaine pour le développement (BRD) joined forces in December, announcing their intention of funding up to EUR 400 m in reactor construction costs.
