AREVA Solidarity: Education projects in Finland, Germany and the United States

12/23/2013
In brief

As part of the internal AREVA Solidarity program, two out of 18 projects sponsored by the AREVA Corporate Foundation are supported by German employees working as volunteers for an association.

The first project contributed to the construction of a cultural center in Nakkila (Finland), where disadvantaged youths and their families are now able to participate in artistic activities. Several of AREVA's German employees helped with the project while working in Finland.

In Erlangen (Germany), weekend workshops were organized to help the children of recent Russian immigrants get ready for kindergarten.

Finally, with the support of an American employee, grants were awarded to 24 students from low-income families in Aiken (North Carolina). The students are taking music classes and attend workshops and summer camps.
