AREVA entities with facilities in the Gard/Rhone Valley area include AREVA Marcoule, Melox, SGN, TNI and LMC. On May 17, 2010, these entities concluded a partnership with the Cèze Sud Community of Communes (consisting of the villages of Chusclan, Orsan and Codolet) and the Crèche Attitude company to create the area’s first corporate-sponsored day-care center.
The center will be located in Orsan, a few kilometers away from the AREVA site, and will create 19 new jobs. It will open its doors on January 3, 2011 to 60 children from the ages of two-and-a-half months to three years. These will be the offspring of AREVA employees, or of Community residents. In a 2009 survey, 12% of AREVA’s 2,650 employees in the area indicated a need for child day-care facilities. AREVA is working with Crèche Attitude in an ongoing preregistration campaign.
The AREVA group is a driver for the creation of day-care facilities, and the AREVA entities in the area are following suit via their corporate parental support program, providing a concrete way to help their employees harmonize their professional and private lives.
