The Foundation agreed to fund two health and medical rounds in the northern bush of Niger within a 200-300 kilometer radius of Agadez to reach isolated nomadic and semi-nomadic peoples.
The first round was carried out from October 13 to 24 in the Arlit region. The free health clinic covered more than 1,000 kilometers in a specially equipped 4-wheel-drive truck, providing healthcare, vaccinations and diagnostic approach to people without access to medical centers, particularly women and children.
Each round was organized and managed locally. All of the participants – i.e. 6-8 medical, paramedical and logistics personnel – are Nigerien.
The second round will be carried out in similar fashion in early 2016.
