On December 3rd 2001, COGEMA, BNFL and ORC announced that the route to be used and the approximate date of arrival of the Pacific Sandpiper in Japan would be announced on the day of departure.
The Sandpiper carrying vitrified residues back to Japan, has left Cherbourg France - today at 09h00 pm local time and will transit to Japan via the Panama canal. She will arrive in Japan during the second half of January.
