Press Release

AREVA has concluded the first session of its new training program, the "Nuclear Learning Tour" designed for employees of the group's partner and customer companies who wish to discover the basics of nuclear power or broaden their knowledge. The program targets engineers and managers, with different levels of experience, aiming to further develop their skills in the nuclear field.

The 8 day-long English-language course comprises a series of lectures by nuclear specialists, interspersed with visits to nuclear sites. Taking into account the aftermath of the Fukushima accident, the program aims to give participants an overall view of the nuclear industry and touches on the basics of reactor physics, while underlining the importance of nuclear safety.

More than 40 customers from 15 countries attended the very first session of the “Nuclear Learning Tour” which not only covers a wide range of topics but also employs innovative teaching methods and tools (interactive training modules,      e-learning, simulators, visits of facilities, etc).

Further training sessions have already been penciled in for 2012.

As Caroline Gonin, Senior Vice President, Training for the AREVA group explains, “One of the Training Department’s priorities is to support the projects of our customers and partners by providing them with tailor-made training offers. This program was put together to demystify the nuclear industry in just one week through a unique approach which is both pragmatic and innovative".
