This year, AREVA SOLIDARITY, the internal call for projects open to French AREVA employees involved in a non-profit organization for at least one year, has been extended to North-American and German employees.
Meeting in Paris on December, 2012, the AREVA Foundation Board decided to support 18 projects from 42 applications submitted.
The 18 projects selected advance the Foundation’s objectives in the fields of education, health and culture and favor underprivileged children: they include academic support, school building and renovation, encouraging scientific, technical and industrial learning, support for physically disabled youth, increased access for isolated populations, housing renovation and encouragement of musical and theatrical training.
The donation of the AREVA Foundation this year allows to financially support some projects in France, Germany, and the United States, as well as in Canada, Finland, India and Niger, near AREVA sites.
Focus on education field, projects have included academic support, trainings for adults, technical and industrial learning, as well as supports in schools building.
Coup de Pouce Humanitaire
- Association: Coup de Pouce Humanitaire provides its local partners with tangible help as needed in organizing voluntary missions.

Project description: Construction of boarding facilities. Comprised of bedrooms, a kitchen, showers and a study room, it will enable 20 girls to continue their studies, helping to prevent premature drop-out from schooling.

Project description: Renovation of a playground at a special school for disabled children in Orleans. The playground allows educators and psychomotor therapists to improve the children’s communication with teachers and helps them to develop balance, learn colors, memorize paths and gain self-confidence. Project description: “Discover nature in my housing project” shows children the ecological wealth of their housing project and teaches them to love and respect it.
